There was an article in the New York Times titled, The Fear of Having a Son by Andrew Reiner, 14 October, 2016, that made me thank God for the many families that still know how to rear boys that become strong men. (https://www.nytimes.com)
I’m not sure what progressive disease has inflicted so many men today, but it seems to be primarily concentrated in large urban areas along the west coast and in the New England states.
As Americans, we need to be thankful everyday for families like the Owens family of Peoria, Illinois, whose son, Chief Petty Officer William “Ryan” Owens, was reared right; able and willing to volunteer, serving his country as a Navy SEAL. Ryan Owens paid the ultimate sacrifice in service to his country this week fighting terrorists in Yemen.
As long as we still have families, like the Owens family in Illinois and other parts of this great country, who aren’t afraid to rear boys and know how to nurture them into strong and capable men, we won’t need to worry about the insecurities of terrified metro-sexuals. Here at Blacksmith, we can only imagine the fear these big city-dwellers experience just thinking about how to mentor boys into manhood. Perhaps it’s in the best interest of the nation that progressive families with androgynous males rear only daughters, and leave the rearing of sons to the families of the heartland.
